Today I will be showcasing Chris Reed, a creative writer from Chicago.

Hey everyone! I’m Christian Reed from Chicago Illinois! I’ve been creative writing since I was young. I’ve taken classes and gotten involved in different creative writing programs that have further advanced the passion I have for it! I write as a creative expression, A stress reliever, to bring my creativity to others, and to ultimately give people something interesting to tune in to. I feel like writing is such an extraordinary outlet for so many people and to be able to not only use that outlet myself but to also broadcast some of my work to others is priceless.

My particular short story Fill the void was made to give people something interesting to read during these difficult times. A short story to spotlight psychological thrillers, to engage critical thinking, and to overall just have fun with!

I hope you all enjoy and a huge thank you to Zion Ross!

“Hello, I'd like to report my daughter missing. Her name is Alana Delivigne Jacobs. She's 17 years old. Shes about um maybe 115 pounds. Long brown hair, brown eyes, cream-colored skin. She has a mole on her neck..........yes I'm sure she’s missing...the last time I spoke to her was over an hour or so ago when my husband and I let her drive to the store by herself. She hasn't returned any of our calls or her friend's calls...

I kept glancing over at her. I could hear the tears in her voice and could see them now streaming down her face. I was driving frantically around the neighborhood of the store, praying for a white jeep.

...I know something is wrong! This is not like my daughter to do this at all! I and my husband just left the store, she wasn’t there either. We are searching through the neighborhood right now.....NO DON'T TELL ME TO CALM DOWN! MY DAUGHTER IS MISSING! She...she...she was in my car... It’s a... A white jeep grand Cherokee... License plate...

She wiped her tears as I put my hand softly on her leg.

...Yes, please... Please send an alert out now. I'm positive something has happened because this is just not like our daughter please understand me...Yes we can do that...we are on our way there now... thank you”

I had a feeling she would tell me they wanted us to come into the station. As the police would in this situation especially in a small town like ours.

They want us to come into the station to give a detailed account of everything that’s happened. But I want us to stop by the house first. Maybe she could have come back or something I don't know.”

I wanted to go by the house to see as well, ill take us there before we head to the police station.

The ride to the house was dreadful. As a parent, you would hope you would never have to face your worst nightmare, but that’s exactly what we were going through. We didn’t say a word. Just rode and hoped. That there she would be, right there sitting on the couch when we got back. The white jeep grand Cherokee in the driveway. All just one big misunderstanding. We hoped, we hoped....we hoped...

When I turned the corner to our street I saw the white jeep immediately. Just there on the side of the street in front of our house.

JOANNA!!!

“Oh my God. Our baby... please.”

I accelerated right to our driveway and without even turning the car off I ran right into the house.

AJ?! AJ?! ARE YOU IN HERE?! AJ WHERE ARE YOU?! AJ!

I ran up the stairs into her bedroom. Nothing. I stomped through the house like my life depended on it, searching every room for something. I ran back down the stairs into the kitchen hoping to see fresh ice cream in the freezer. Nothing.

“Daniel.”

It was all a blur. My mind could not process what was going on. I tried to run back outside but Joanna stopped me at the door with a paper in hand.

“Daniel read this..”

Daddy...Mommy...I hope you don’t worry yourselves to death. I am ok. I am with a man who says that he will take care of me now. He even drove the car back home. He knew you weren’t there, he knew when I was going to the store, he knew...everything. Mommy. Remember, I'll always know you loved your Hersheys. Please know that I'll always know this. I love you both so much. He also wanted me to tell you all not to worry about looking for me. At all.

Sincerely, Aj

When I moved my hand from the corner of the page I saw a blood print on it.
